#6 Shoulder Bag SCHUPTA

I'm happy to introduce to you: SCHUPTA - little shoulder bags and purses made from shoulder pads.

They come in all kinds of shapes and colors, so it never gets old.
The thick ones are perfect for protecting cameras, mobile phones etc.

Lately I'm using old cables as shoulder straps. They are strong, endurable, come in all kinds of colors and are being thrown away in abundance. A perfect material.

Unwanted shoulder pads are a perfect material too.
They would truly end up in the trash and they often do.
Once I started using them for all kinds of purposes, it's hard to understand that someone would throw away such precious things.

If you have any, don't throw - let me know !

Fashion Show / Volunteers Wanted!

I wanna have a fashion show!

But I don't want a typical fashion show, with skinny models walking stoically up and down a catwalk. Yawn.
I wanna make a statement.
I want a huge variety of people: all sizes, heights, ages, genders, and races. The more variations, the more interesting it would be.
I wanna send a message against normalcy, against beauty ideals, against gender roles, against mass-production, and against inactive consuming.
I wanna show people how many things they can make themselves without money.

I'm planning to sew new things during the winter and then have that fashion-show-of-sorts somewhere outside in the springtime. Maybe I will use bicycles too.

So I'm looking for strong personalities out there who share my struggle.
If you are a musician/dancer/performer or feel like one, then even better for our purpose.

If you are interested in participating in any way, not even necessarily as a model, then go ahead and let me know!

Last Night's Vernissage

Last night was the opening of this week's group exhibition at Pop-Up Art Gallery. It was a nice evening with lots of creative energy in the air and interesting people to talk to.
Simon presented a lot of my clothes really enthusiastically. Thanks for that!

If anyone wants to look at my collection again and try some clothes on, you have this whole week to do so. Everything is still in the gallery. If you plan on going, let me know and I'll make sure it will be open.

#5 Poncho TINCHO DOS

Last week I found a wonderful embroidered round table cloth that I wanted to save from its miserable (non-)existence.
I cut a hole in the middle and put in a hood of an old sweater. It also has a cozy inside pocket to keep your hands warm.
TINCHO DOS walks among us now.

#4 Shoulder Bag HANTA

This little shoulder bag is made from a single glove and a dog leash. Or rat leash, since it's so small. HANTA is closed with a picture hanger hooking into a button.
The shoulder strap can be removed.
HANTA can be used to safely transport breakable goods, camera, mobile phone, sunglasses. My external drive fits in perfectly. Or something that needs to be kept warm.

It can be worn folded open as well which reveals its former existence even better and offers more room.  The former glove's thumb becomes a secret little pocket for notes, keys etc.
How about transporting a bottle of Glühwein, or a cold beer?

#3 Chair MASIST

A synthesis between a broken chair and a car seat cover

I found a broken chair in a park one summer day. What to do with it. I took it with me and turned the former seating surface into a skirt. The empty chair skeleton looked so sad and too valuable to throw it away.
So I remembered that car seat cover that ended up with me. I attached it to the chair skeleton as the new seating surface. The seat cover is made of wooden pearls, so now you can enjoy a nice back and butt massage while enjoying the thought of having saved this chair from the trash.

#2 Shoulder Bottle Bag SCHUTA

This bottle bag has been made from old shoes with worn-out soles. A piece of tire forms the new heels, since the old ones were too stiff to be sewn together. It's the perfect size for holding your beer bottle while you need your hands otherwise.

#1 Rain Cape RENG Berlin

A charming rain cape made from 1,5 broken umbrellas found on the streets of Berlin. This one includes a visor for even better protection from the rain.
As any RENG, it's very light and it can be folded to fit in every bag.

An Item A Day...Almost

Currently I am turning about everything that I get my hands on into something else.
Old clothes, shoes, broken umbrellas, cables, shoulder pads, potholders, table cloths, you name it.
You can find a picture of each new item here on my blog.
If you have things to donate just send me an email. Thanks!
